Lá Fora, we have grown

Escola Lá Fora adds two centers to its educational offer, becoming present in Lisbon, Almada and Ericeira.

Escola Lá Fora opened in June 2020 at Quinta das Conchas, in Lisbon. In a difficult time, punctuated by all the limitations of a pandemic, we guessed a great desire to be outdoors.

What followed was a very rich experience of Forest School activities with many city children full of desire to know and live nature better.

LEARNING LÁ FORA: full-time Forest School activities for pre-school children (3-6 years old); an opportunity to support families with out-of-school children, thus promoting contact with other children in the context of the Forest School pedagogical model.

BABIES LÁ FORA: playgroups for babies (0-3 years) accompanied by a family member/caregiver in two-hour sessions, promoting contact with other children and the Forest School pedagogical model.

EXPLORING LÁ FORA: 2-hour sessions of Forest School activities held during the school term (3-12 years) carried out as extracurricular activities, in non-school hours, or curricular, in partnerships with schools and inserted in the curriculum.

HOLIDAYS LÁ FORA: weeks of vacation activities for children aged 3 to 12. It is a time of support for families in non-school time, so that children spend their vacations in a natural environment, with challenging activities.

All these activities have in common that they are based on the Forest School pedagogical model and that they see each child as an individual with particular needs and wishes. Each child is accompanied individually, in partnership with the family, without neglecting any area of development.

With the opening of the new centers, Escola Lá Fora is now present in:

• Lisbon: Parque da Quinta das Conchas, in the Lumiar area
• Almada: Rua Francisco Foreiro, 2, next to Cristo Rei
• Ericeira: São João das Lampas, in close proximity to São Julião beach
